Rhythm Production and Perception workshop
RPPW.org is a community resource for those engaged in the scientific study of rhythm production and perception. It has emerged out of a loose community of psychologists, neuroscientists, and cognitive scientists who share an interest in the understanding of rhythmic aspects to human experience. Rhythm is at the core of a wide range of human tasks, from speaking and dancing, to walking and synchronising with others. The biannual workshop is focused on the scientific study of the broad area of human movement, timing and time perception.
The principal vehicle of the community is a biannual workshop, held in various picturesque locations in Europe (and the world!).
When is the next RPPW ?
RPPW 19 comes to Nottingham!
RPPW 19 comes to the historic English city of Nottingham on 19-22nd June 2023.
Famed for the infamous Robin Hood, Nottingham and Sherwood Forest were the setting for this legendary heroic outlaw, who was depicted in English folklore and subsequently featured in literature and film across the centuries.
The workshop will take place at Nottingham Trent University, which is in the heart of Nottingham city centre. There are many bars, eateries, and hotels within walking distance of the conference venue - as well as the opportunity to experience 'indulgent snacks' at the conference itself (the organizers have no idea, because they have never experienced them before).
The conference orgainzing team will be lead by Darren Rhodes and Chris Sumner at NTU - with support of CRACN (Centre for Research in Applied and Cognitive Neuroscience) and NTU Psychology. Please do get in touch if you would like to provide any help or support!
Stay tuned for registration and abstract submission details!
We anticipate the submission portal opening early January until the end of February 2023.
You can find the submission portal here.
We will also let you know as soon as possible about the pricing structure - but we plan on both a Doctoral/ECR and Faculty pricing structure - and both will be very affordable.
